A Summary of it’s history as presented in the program for the presentation of national and Unit Colours Parade 7 October 1988.
Subsequently, the unit provided the medical plan and cover for Exercise Thunderchariot the only fully equipped and live ammunition divisional exercise held in South Africa at the Army Battle School.
The unit provided the medical personnel for all operations in the border regions until the closure of the SADF in the mid 1900’s. Being deactivated and not disbanded means it can be reactivated with it’s full history at anytime.

After having a very happy day, he died a weeks later.
